ONBOARDING PROCESS FOR A WOMAN ENTREPRENEUR
- Visit the community to request a date to have a meeting with the women
- Revisit the community on the meeting date to educate the women on the importance of Renewable Energies (RE), the business opportunity in it, show them the different RE products Sosai sells, and then inform them about the Matan Arewan Sosai Project.
- Interested women get their forms from me
- They fill the form and submit it back to me
- I screen the form for the correctly filled ones
- I reach out to the village head to verify the women who have submitted their correctly filled form
- An entrepreneur is then chosen amongst them following the guidance of the village head of a woman that is trustworthy and hardworking
- The selected women are then trained on how to identify market opportunities, how to market the product, the proper use of products, its maintenance, communication, and supply procedures
- After the training, they are given their startup package depending on the product they choose
- Monthly follow up call is put across to the women or visit sometimes to record their progress
- Product supply is made to the women upon demand and also marketing materials
- Each woman is visited on 5 occasions to support her with marketing campaigns
- Women are invited for training as the need arises
TERMS FOR MATAN AREWA SOSAI INITIATIVE PROJECT
- Forms must be properly filled with one passport.
- Forms must be well certified, that is, signed and stamped by the referees and community leader or guarantor organization.
- Verification of the community head or guarantor organization will be done before items can be given to an applicant.
- Only twenty thousand nairas or less worth of items can be given to an entrepreneur for a start.
- Upon presentation of an upfront payment and a signed payment agreement between MASI entrepreneur and their customers, Sosai can increase the MASI entrepreneurs’ debt to a maximum of thirty thousand (30000) naira.
- All items will be accounted for a month after receipt.
- A maximum of two months’ grace will be given to an entrepreneur who pleads for an extension on the one month after receiving goods to show payment agreements and upfront payments or return items to Sosai.
- The agreement must be signed between MASI entrepreneurs and their customers before goods can be given on credit; even if it is a relative.
- Entrepreneurs must sign for every good collected or payment made; receipts can replace the signature to be made after payment.
- Entrepreneurs should keep records of customers, items sold, and dates. This will be useful for customers’ warranty claims.
- Entrepreneurs are responsible for the logistics of their goods.
- Entrepreneurs are allowed to increase the actual price of goods for any installment payment.
- Each entrepreneur will be contacted via phone call by the coordinator, at least once a month.
- Each entrepreneur has 5 golden opportunities to be supported with marketing activities by Sosai.
- Quarterly meetings will be held in clusters considering the entrepreneurs’ location.
- Entrepreneurs are allowed to quit the business at will but all entitlements must be surrendered to Sosai in good condition or else any damage done will be evaluated and have to be paid for in cash.
- Entrepreneurs who choose the option of boosting business with renewable energy will be given the available system of their choice to pay in an installment of 18 months, on rare occasions it can be extended to 24months.
- Entrepreneurs will have to pay the first installment before system installation.
- Training will be conducted for entrepreneurs as the need arises.
- Entrepreneurs will be fully responsible for themselves during training.
